The Total Log Cabin Restoration crew is in Randolph County, Franklinville, NC to repair, clean and re-coat Marsha H’s log home. The log home is in good shape and is in need of some minor repairs. This will be a maintenance repair, clean, and re-coat. Cory, one of our carpenters, will get the repairs complete first. Cory will replace one, 4x4 post holding up the deck, and will secure a fascia board on the garage, as well as install a wooden screen door.

David is the crew leader for this job, and the crew gets started on the preparation process. As with all the restoration jobs, the decks are cleared, and all furniture is removed, The gutter downspouts are also removed to protect them from stain as well as an easy access to the corner of the home. All the exterior lighting will also be covered and taped to protect and prevent electrical shortage.

This is a maintenance cleaning and re-coat. Because we are not doing a full restoration, there is no need to strip off old product. The crew will be doing a full cleaning. The day after cleaning, and when the log home has had a chance to dry, the crew will inspect all the caulking, including the window and door frames. Fresh caulking will be applied where it is needed.

This log home is now ready to re-coat. The crew will apply one coat of TWP Redwood As an added measure of protection, the crew adds Bee Gone to the stain. This product is a treatment to combat against beetles and other insects that attack and eat the wood.
